This feature by Kristian Levring, one of the founding members of the now-legendary Dogma 95 group, tells the story of a group of tourists traveling the African desert. When their bus takes a wrong turn, the group discovers themselves lost, without gas or food, in a nearly abandoned village. Waiting to be rescued, and attempting to escape from fear and boredom, one of the travelers persuades the others to create a performance of "King Lear," which he knows by memory. Soon, the stranded find that the dire events of the play are mirrored in their own violent personal and physical crises, and begin to face their worst fears and their rawest emotions.

The superb multinational cast includes Janet McTeer, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bruce Davison and Romanine Bohringer. The brilliant digital photography of Jens Scholossen proves the dogma style video is a highly appropriate medium for rendering visual spectacle.
